ABOUT EXPO AND ITS COMPONENTS

Expo Confidential Services is a full service investigative agency founded in 1989 and impressively staffed by former government investigators.

Kerry R. Farney, CLI, is the Chief Investigator for Expo. He is a former investigator for the Orlando Police Department, Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation (MBI), and Air Force Office of Special Investigation (OSI). His military credentials also include: Army and Air Force Exchange Service Detective, Security Police Investigator. His many military awards include a commendation from the criminal police of Landstuhl (Germany). He subsequently left the USAFOSI to further a civilian law enforcement career. Mr. Farney quickly progressed from a police officer to tactical investigator and then was assigned as a special investigator with the MBI, a multi-county narcotics, organized crime and vice task force.

In the mean time, Kerry completed numerous law enforcement investigative courses sponsored by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Department of Justice, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and other government agencies. As if this was not enough, Kerry received numerous awards and commendations during his law enforcement career including being named Officer of the Month on four separate occasions. In 1990, Kerry decided to specialize and became a licensed private investigator in Florida. He has led his investigative firm into a highly successful full-service practice due to his extensive knowledge of law, his tedious attention to detail, and his devotion to justice and the clients he serves.

Kerry Farney wishes to spread his attained knowledge and natural gift for investigating throughout the community and has taught courses at the Central Florida Criminal Justice Institute and City College. He has been honored for his teaching contributions by the Florida Governor's office for his commitment to the Florida Informed Parents for a Drug-Free Youth. Kerry has lectured at investigative conferences throughout the country and has been featured numerous occasions on radio station WSBR and television stations, WCPX and WESH. Kerry has published two articles in the Legal Investigator, one on his role in the Dr. Jack Kevorkian cases and another on DUI investigations. Mr. Farney is a member of the National Association of Legal Investigators and has achieved the designation Certified Legal Investigator

through that organization and has served as its regional director for the Southeast United States. He is also a charter member of the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators. Additionally, he holds memberships in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Council of International Investigators, Intelnet, the Criminal Defense Investigation Training Council, the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators and the Orange County (Florida) Bar Association.

There are other associates of Expo that definitely deserve recognition such as Stephen Craig, whose commitment to professional ethics and quality service make him an invaluable asset not only to Expo but to the entire community. Mr. Craig began his investigative career in the United States Army in 1986. His military experience includes assignment as a Foreign Counterintelligence Special Agent for United States Army Intelligence, performing both as an agent and analyst. His citations and awards include numerous joint-service and United States Army decorations, to include the Joint-Service Commendation Medal. As an intelligence officer, Steve served in a wide variety of assignments nationally and worldwide. He was responsible for intelligence operations, as well as assisting, conducting and supervising hundreds of investigations into matters regarding National Security.

In 1996, Steve became a licensed private investigator in Florida and has successfully transformed his federal investigative experience to the civilian and corporate sector. Steve adeptly applies the techniques used in government incident investigations to private sector investigations.

Expo is very proud to be associated with Gary Carter, who has been a Florida licensed private investigator since 1992. He specializes in dignitary protection, witness locates and interviews, personal injury and surveillance matters. Mr. Carter's vast law enforcement experience includes investigative work in narcotics, white collar, homicide, and criminal intelligence issues.

Barbara Sellers, RN, is an integral part of Expo Confidential Services. Ms. Sellers is a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida and has earned the designation Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) by successfully completing a comprehensive and exhaustive national certification exam. Barbara is a licensed private investigator in the state of Florida, specializing in interviews. Her technical expertise is invaluable in reviewing civil and criminal cases as they relate to medical issues.
 
Lori Lakeman has spent her entire 20+ year career in the legal profession as a paralegal in both the criminal and civil fields. Her experience has included serving as paralegal for prominent criminal defense attorney James R. Russ (the only Orlando criminal attorney listed in "Best Lawyers of America") in high profile matters such as defending Courtney Love-Cobain and others. In addition, she was chief paralegal for civil attorney E. Clay Parker (who is AV rated and also listed in "Best Lawyers of America"). She began her legal career as a legal assistant and later as a judicial assistant to Circuit Court Judge Edward M. Jackson, 18th Circuit, Brevard County, Florida. Expo Confidential Services is very fortunate to be able to obtain such professional services as those of Ms. Lori Lakeman.

John Baker
began his investigative career in the United States Army in 1984. His military experience was in the telecommunications field. His citations include two Army Commendation medals for work related to cryptic-secure site operations and maintenance. He formerly possessed a secret clearance.

Mr. Baker graduated from the University of Central Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree (Liberal Studies) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Art).

In 1996 Mr. Baker became a licensed private investigator in Florida. He is a professional photographer and has developed a specialty in surveillance operations.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky commissioned the Honorable John Baker as a Kentucky Colonel in 1999.


Mark Piazza graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. He subsequently served in the United States Army working with the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, United States Army South. While serving in the Republic of Panama, his duties consisted of undercover surveillance of key military targets and providing intelligence information for the war on drugs. Mark received two Army Commendation Medals for his leadership and work on drug interdiction while serving in the Panama Canal region.

After leaving the Army, Mark worked in the Detroit area for one of the country's largest security and investigation firms. He later worked in the investigative arena for Ford Motor Credit and the American International Group (AIG). Mark completed the renowned Ford Motor Credit Skip Tracing School where he mastered state-of-the-art skip tracing techniques.

As a private investigator, Mark has investigated hundreds of criminal and insurance cases. He specializes in locating (skip tracing) and interviewing witnesses, background inquiries and surveillance operations.

Mark is currently a member of the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators, the Michigan State University Varsity Alumni Association, and the American Legion.


Expo Confidential Services enjoys a very advantageous relationship with Daniel N. Brodersen, Attorney at Law. Mr. Brodersen serves as a legal advisor to Expo. He began his legal career as a trial attorney for the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC. He subsequently served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Brodersen has also served as in-house Counsel to the Sheriff of Seminole County, Florida. Mr. Brodersen has been in private practice since 1993.
